Volunteering

We appreciate that volunteering is beneficial for both mental and physical health and we wish for our community to be actively involved in line with our project plans for development and widening use of the woods.

We all want to get the best out of our Gillies Hill Community Woodland and without volunteer work that wouldn’t be possible.

Please register your interest in volunteering via e-mail here: Contact us.  Volunteer days are now held on the last Saturday of every month tasks will be allocated based around our work projects – keep an eye on Facebook or on our website Events in advance of volunteer days.

So far this year our volunteers have been involved in tree planting, rhododendron clearance, path drainage improvements, access road improvements, sowing seeds, litter picking and lots more!

Volunteers are also required to help with planning and the research of funding applications, this behind the scenes work is just as vital as the physical work and can be done from home as and when required.
Contact woodland@ccdt.org.uk if you are interested in helping in this way.

Do you have any specialist skills or knowledge to contribute to the work of the woodland or potentially to aid informative guided walks in the future? We’d love to hear from you!
